results may vary: returning from the playground

It’s hot. Despite this, we walked three blocks to the playground. Here’s what was going through my sweaty mind as we trudged home.
One and a half waffles were NOT an adequate breakfast for this level of activity.
I am really glad I brought water for the kids AND the dog. I should have extended the same consideration to myself.
Deciding that it was nice enough for a walk based on a few seconds on my shady porch was not wise.
The pioneers endured this all day in heavy clothes.
I’m so glad that the kids just wanted to swing. Less chasing them around that way.
I didn’t think to bring the kids’ sunglasses.
The pioneers wanted their descendants to have a better life; they WANTED us to have air conditioning.
I forgot about those sweat glands.

Cale, I have not taken anyone out in this heat, and I almost felt guilty for keeping them cooped up, then I read your post, you are right, the pioneers would be happy for us!!!
