Submission Guidelines—seveneightfive or XYZ:

Letters to the Editor

seveneightfive and XYZ welcome your opinions, comments and questions. Letters to the Editor are published online and some may be featured in print, on occasion. Please keep letters to 300 words or less, and submit either in the body of your e-mail or as a MS Word or PDF attachment. Include your first and last name, e-mail and a phone number where you can be reached for verification. We regret we cannot acknowledge or return unpublished letters.

Story Ideas and Writer’s Submissions

We publish / consider all forms of work (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, blogs, etc.) in the category of art, entertainment, local flavor and lifestyle.  The work must have a focus on Topeka—the city and/or its people.

Keep pitches to a maximum of two pages, double spaced. Editors regret that acceptance of a story pitch does not necessarily mean acceptance of you as a contributor.

If you wish to write for our publication, include your story pitch, one or two writing samples, a short biography and/or resume and contact information. Please send all information as a MS Word or PDF attachment.

Artwork Submissions

For consideration, send photos of your work in a JPEG file with a 72 dpi resolution. If your work is accepted for publication, we will require JPEG files at a resolution of 300 dpi.

General Notes

If you are submitting simultaneously to other publications, please mention that, and inform us immediately, as a matter of courtesy, if your work appears elsewhere.

Despite the best of intentions, however, we will not be able to respond to all submissions. If you have not heard from us within six weeks, please re-submit your material to ensure we have received it.

All materials should be sent to leah@seveneightfive.com.
